The strange workings of the sleeping mind

In my dream last night, we had two overnight houseguests. They visited a week or two apart, and stayed in the spare room. Both were pleasant company, providing fascinating dinner conversation. They were unfailingly polite, and uncomplaining about the ongoing experiment conducted by daughter in toilet-training the cats. The first had soup and bread with us for dinner, the second was treated to Sunday supper (lest you think one ate better than the other, this means pancakes with syrup or plum jam, with bacon on the side). Both joined in family scripture and prayer before bed. I was impressed with both men, though my dreaming mind wondered if the second had known he was sleeping in the same bed the first had slept in before (I did change the sheets, of course).

Both men were Senators, so I sincerely doubt this dream would ever come to pass--certainly not as calmly as it did in my dream (oh the housecleaning I would have to do... in the dream, there were scraps of wrapping paper left over from birthdays and Christmas presents under the bed). But I wonder what it means that I find them equally delightful to stay in my home. The first guest was (if you hadn't guessed already) was Senator Obama. The second was Senator McCain.

Care to interpret my dream?

Sorry I had to delete my last comment. I asked which senator came first, but clearly you already stated that and I wasn't reading carefully enough.

Maybe your dream is telling you that it doesn't really matter who you vote for. The world will not end and Christmas and birthdays and even pancakes for dinner will still happen, even if the unthinkable happens and the candidate I (or you) don't happen to like gets elected. But they would both very happily like your vote.

Or...maybe they have both heard that you are the first person ever to get 100% on your bar exam and they are desperate to have you on their teams, because it's not every day you can hire a genius to work for you. They will even put up with Mormon scripture study and potty-training cats if only you will help them -- you with your enormous cranium!

It means you have a really balanced mind? (I don't know. But a fascinating dream.)
